Continuing on the mission to achieve those “photo-shopped” under eyes I have yet another post. As I previously discussed on my post; The Best Ways to Set Your Under Eyes, I shared my favourite techniques and makeup products to use to set those under eyes. Nevertheless, we can all use the best products and techniques in the world but if your under eyes are not properly looked after, you may as well disregard everything you just learned.
HYDRATE HYDRATE HYDRATE
One of the most common misconceptions my clients have is that -only older women need to wear eye cream. I cannot stress to you enough the importance of eye cream for women of ALL ages and skin types. Eye creams are the best “primer” for your concealer under the eyes. I do not recommend using the same primer you use on the rest of your face under your eyes as these primers usually contain ingredients that are not made for that delicate area of skin. Nonetheless, the reason why eye creams are so important is because just as your face needs a layer of protection between your makeup and skin, this layer of protection is twice as important under your eyes. The skin under your eyes is very delicate and sensitive, therefore, the less chemicals from the makeup absorbed, the better. Secondly, the main reason I highly recommend hydrating those under eyes is because applying concealer is a dream compared to when you omit this step. After this area of skin has that layer of moisture, the under eyes become more plump and fine lines are less noticeable. Adding this step to your skincare routine is ESSENTIAL especially if you like to bake your concealer as this is a very drying process.
I alternate between these 2 eye creams every morning. I use these creams particularly because I found that they are very hydrating and do not leave a greasy or tacky residue which makes it great under concealer. Also, I have used these creams on the most sensitive of skin types and there has been no irritation.
- Reviva labs – Eye complex firming cream – Very affordable and made with all natural ingredients. I have went through over 3 jars of this already. I am only able to find it online, nevertheless, to get free shipping and to save $5 off your order use the code VBL128 and this takes away all the effort of going on the hunt for it in store. (RRP will come to less than $5!!)
Benefit – It’s Potent! Eye cream – This is a lovely light weight eye cream if you do not mind forking out the extra dollars. Easily accessible from any benefit counter or you can purchase it online.
THE BEST UNDER EYE TREATMENT?!
Every night before I sleep I swear by this step to maintain hydrated under eyes. This “treatment” has made a significant difference in the appearance of my under eyes. I have even found that my unsightly dark circles have slightly faded in colour. The best part is it is a very easy and cost effective step. My little secret is COCONUT OIL. I purchased a massive jar from iherb.com for under $10 (under $5 if you use the code VBL128) and it will last me a life time! The way I apply it is very simple; I slather it on under my eyes before I sleep and I wake up in the morning with plump, hydrated and less hollow looking under eyes.
Be sure to give these tips a go and remember to drink plenty of water!

Great post 😍. I always tell people the importance of eye cream especially as a young adult. Out of all the products you mentioned, which one would be good for my dark circles. Would it be the coconut oil?

I find that drinking a lot of water helps brighten them, however nothing will completely take them away. Also, applying coconut oil on them as an overnight treatment works great then following with a good eye cream in the morning (for the price the reviva labs eye cream is amazing)

Thanks! So besides the coconut oil would you recommend me using to potent eye cream? Not for dark circles purposes just for a eye cream usage

I really only use that one on clients bc it absorbs quicker into the skin but the reviva labs one is just as good and keeps them really hydrated for a fraction of the price

Very informative blog, thanks! I always thought that applying oil on the undereyes is a no-no? I have to try coconut oil as I use jojoba oil on my skin every night and love it 😊. Could you please make a tutorial how to get that full cover makeup glam on the undereye area? With steps and pics, would love that. You look amazing btw!

I recommend it for use at night as a treatment and just use eye cream for daytime wear otherwise it will crease your concealer. I absolutely love Jojoba oil! I slather it on my face avoiding the under eye area and place the coconut oil there. Thanks babe that sounds like a great idea if love to do that X
